Real Estate

It's all about living somewhere, it's part of life so it's always good to know what's happening in real estate.

Name:
Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States

I'm a mother of two grown sons, my husband and I are empty-nesters at this point. Both of my sons have graduated from College. One is a graphic designer and the other is a senior credit analyst. My oldest is married and has a son (grandmother-yippee!) and owns his own home. My other son has a condo and getting married! There is something to say about all that. I am very proud of them and feel I accomplished a great task in my life. I've always work hard at everything I do and feel that is the only way I get things done to get what I want. I guess that's the way it was meant to be for me anyway. I truly believe things happen for a reason and if you want something you have to take chances to get it.

BEWARE WHEN YOU GO ON VACATION!

Home Safety Tips while you’re on the Road.
The last thing you want to do while on vacation is spend time worrying about the safety of your home. Here are a few vital tips for crime prevention and vacation peace of mind:
Keep up appearances:
Suspend newspaper delivery and have someone pick-up your mail.
Use timers to switch lights on and off, and possibly a TV or radio.
Have someone cut/water the lawn.
Leave a generic greeting on your voice mail/answering machine. Never say you’ll be away or leave a long list of instructions that "imply" you’ll be away.
Don’t make it easy:
Ensure all doors and windows are locked and can’t easily be lifted out of their tracks.
Trim shrubbery around doors and windows that would otherwise make it hard to see intruders from the road.
Secure or remove anything that could be used as a break-in device of opportunity.
Get the help of those you trust:
Tell someone where you’re going, when you’ll be back and how to reach you in case of emergency.
Have neighbours, ideally one to the front and back or on both sides, keep an eye on your home and report anything suspicious to the police.
Consider asking someone to housesit, especially if you plan to be away for an extended period of time.
Make sure your home insurance is up-to-date for the duration of your trip.

Now you have less to worry about. Have a great vacation!
